This seems to be to be a remarkably accurate representation of the these two perspectives. Interesting question for dialog: is this even still a relevant disagreemnt in the 21st or is our economic and sociological situation determined by a new and different dynamic, such as those that concern Weber, Ellul, or McLuhan?
